Lake Claude Bennett is a 71-acre lake located in Jasper County, 20 miles east of Bay Springs off Hwy 18 near Rose Hill. The lake was opened in 1961, and named for a former president of the University of Southern Mississippi who lived in Jasper County.
Bay Springs Country Club opened as a semi-private club in 1965. Our course offers tee areas for men, women and seniors age 60 and up. We also have executive tees for super seniors age 70 and up. A new driving range is located north of the #1 fairway. New Yamaha golf carts are also available for rental.
Jasper County Mississippi has 5 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 2 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Archeological Site No. 22-Js-572 and Archeological Site No. 22JS587, Graham House, Jasper County Jail, Old and Montrose Presbyterian Church.
