Heidelberg Academy:
Heidelberg AcademyHeidelberg Academy was founded in 1970 and was first housed in the Baptist and Presbyterian churches in Heidelberg. Heidelberg Academy is a private stockholding corporation governed by a board of directors currently consisting of nine members.

Heidelberg Academy is a member of the Mississippi Private School Association and holds a Class A accreditation rating. Approximately 99% of all graduates attend colleges and universities throughout the country. A high percentage of graduates of Heidelberg Academy typically receive academic scholarships.

Heidelberg Academy has a very diverse activities program offering all major sports in grades 7-12. Numerous clubs and student organizations are also offered to encourage student involvement with school. The Fine Arts program includes several show choirs and musical productions on a regular basis. Art and piano lessons are also offered to students.

Heidelberg Academy participates in the Mississippi Private School Association testing program each spring. Both achievement and mental ability tests are administered annually. ACT test preparation and scholarship competition is encouraged in secondary school.

Support organizations for the school include the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Booster Club. The PTO sponsors numerous events throughout the year to support the academic program, while the Booster Club supports athletic programs.
Heidelberg Academy requires a minimum of 21 academic credits for graduation. Requirements of the Board of Institutions of Higher Learning for the State of Mississippi are followed in the college Preparatory curriculum. A general diploma is also offered to students attending Heidelberg Academy.
Heidelberg Academy is a traditional college preparatory school where prayer and devotions begin every school day.

Sylva Bay Academy:
Sylva Bay AcademySylva-Bay Academy is located at the intersection of State Highways 18 and 531.  Nestled on 56 acres, the campus consists of a main classroom building with a computer lab and library, a separate kindergarten wing, an independent cafeteria, gym, field house and football stadium, and a spacious baseball and softball complex. 

 Sylva-Bay is a member of the Mississippi Private School Association with a Class A Accreditation.   Sylva-Bay has three levels of Kindergarten (K3, K4, K5) in addition to Grades 1 through 12.  Enrollment is open to all students regardless of race, creed, or national origins. Currently, our enrollment is 325 students K3 through 12th grade.

Most of the students who attend Sylva-Bay Academy come from surrounding communities in Jasper, Smith and Jones counties. Sylva-Bay serves students from the local communities of Bay Springs, Raleigh, Louin, Montrose, Rose Hill, Homewood, Heidelberg, Pineville, Sylvarena, Taylorsville, Soso, Stringer, and Laurel.   Bus route service is provided to the Taylorsville and Sylvarena areas for a monthly fee.
Sylva-Bay Academy strives to enhance our academics environment to promote excellence in education to such a level that parents, patrons, and community leaders will be excited to invest their time and resources,  In addition to academics, Sylva-Bay Academy hopes to reflect an environment of integrity, respect, and encouragement so that all students may realize their potential for growth in meeting their personal goals. 

Sylva-Bay Academy's mission is to provide an educational enviroment in which each student's God-given potential is fully molded and enhanced in all area of development, therefore yeilding citizens  whose aims and productivity will be conducive to our ever-changing society.

    A student is not an interruption of our work.  He or she is the purpose of our  work.
    A student is not just a statistic.  He or she is a flesh and blood human being with feelings and emotions like ourselves.
    A student is one who comes to us with needs and/or wants.  It is our job to fulfill them.
    A student is deserving of the most courteous and attentive treatment that we can provide. 
    A student is the lifeblood of this and every other school.
